Thank you for linking to my post. I just found and approved two trackbacks from your blog that were lost in a sea of trackback spam. It takes so long to check each link that they pile up on me when I am really busy.

It is common for spammers to tweet at people as though they are replying to us or to make it look like we tweeted something of theirs and they are responding or RTing OUT tweet (that we never sent and never would).

I sometimes call them out publicly. If a spammer adds my Twitter username to their spam link and that is the only thing they ever tweet I report them for spamming – so that isn’t a very bright strategy although it IS possible that some influential Twitter users with a lot of followers might RT something like that wilthout looking at it. (Not very likely though.)

People need to use discernment and not ASSUME that what APPEARS to be going on is actually what happened. Too bad you’re using Livefyre. Are you sure that is the blogging community you best fit in? I come across your blog off and on and I would not usually see content on Livefyre type blogs.
