Changing the Look for the New Year

Many of you have noticed that I have not posted this month. I have received a few emails wondering what I have been doing. @socialmatching sent me a DM on twitter and wanted to know when I would be back from vacation.
I’ve actually been hard at work redesigning my blog for the new year. I am making it easier to include my posts to your favorite social media sites. It will also be much easier to connect with me on your favorite social media sites.
I will also be adding some additional functionality to the site and including Guest posts from other bloggers that give back to our community.
2010 looks to be a great year as we head into the future. I look forward to hearing from everyone in the coming months.

Amber Alert on Myspace?

I almost scrolled right passed it since it was by the status alert section at the top. I just thought it was just another message coming in. As soon as I saw “Amber Alert” clicked on the link immediately.
You see I have a daughter that is 5 right now and every time I see an Amber Alert my heart stops. I can’t help it. As a parent it’s the one thing I would never wish on anyone. To see this on MySpace caught me off guard a bit. I just didn’t expect to see something like that here.
However, I must admit with the popularity of MySpace and other social media platforms this is the fastest way to get information out to the general public. I took this screen shoot of the actual message and put it on my Twitter page.
After posting it on Twitter the picture had over 40 views with in a couple of minutes. People also started to retweet it and spread the word. The girl went missing yesterday March 23rd.
I’m not sure how long MySpace has been doing this public service but Koodos to MySpace for setting up this Amber Alert on their network. Other social media platforms should follow suit.
